LASER-RAMAN ΦΑΣΜΑΤΑ ΟΥΣΙΩΝ ΕΝ ΠΡΟΣΡΟΦΗΣΕΙ
Abstract
dc:descriptionTHE SUBJECT OF THIS THESIS IS THE STUDY OF THE LASER-RAMAN SPECTRA OF CERTAIN SUBSTANCES IN THE STATE OF ADSORPTION ON THE FOLLOWING SUBSTRATES: SIO2, AL2O3, SIO2, AL2O3 ON SIO2 AND BENTONITE. THE SUBSTANCES USED WERE NAPHTHALENE, TRIPHENYLMETHANE, (AND SOME OF ITS DERIVATIVES), TRIPHENYLAMINE, ANTHRACENE, DIPHENYLAMINE AND THE BINARY MIXTURES: C6H6-CLL4 AND C6H6-CHCL3. RAMAN SHIFTS OF THE ADSORBED MOLECULES WERE OBSERVED AND COMPARED WITH THE PURE SUBSTANCES. CHANGES OF THE RELATIVE INTENSITES AND APPEARENCE OF NEW BANDS WERE ALSO OBSERVED IN THERAMAN SPECTRA OF THE ADSORBED SUBSTANCES WHICH ARE NOT SHOWN IN THE RAMAN SPECTRA OF THE PURE COMPOUNDS. IN THE CASE OF THE ADSORPTION OF THE ABOVE MENTIONEDCOMPOUNDS ON SIO2, AL2O3, SUBSTRATE COLOURED COMPOUNDS ARE FORMED, SOME OF WHICH SHOW RESONANCE RAMAN SPECTRA WHEN THE ADSORBED SUBSTANCES COVERS THE SUBSTRATE SURFACE IN AMOUNT SMALLER THAN 0,01 OF A MONOLAYER. FROM THE CHANGE OF THE INTENSITY OF THE LOW FREQUENCY RAMAN BANDS OF THE ADSORBED SUBSTANCES IT IS CONCLUDED THAT THE MELTING POINT OF THE ADSORBED SUBSTANCES IS LOWER THAN IN THE USUAL STATE. IN THE RAMAN SPECTRA OF CERTAIN ADSORBED MOLECULES BELONGING TO THE TD POINT GROUP, SOME BANDS DUE TO THE DEGENERATE VIBRATIONS ARE SPLIT TO TWO ORTHREE BANDS OWING TO THE REMOVAL OF THE DEGENERACY BY ADSORPTION.
