THE PURPOSE OF THIS THESIS IS TO CORRELATE THE DIAGNOSTIC VALUE OF THE 1ST PASSRADIONUCLIDE COMPUTER ASSISTED ANGIOGRAPHY IN THE AORTOILIAC DISEASE, WITH THECONTRAST AORTOGRAPHY, AND ESPECIALLY TO DETERMINE THE ADVANTAGES OF THE 1ST PASS RADIONUCLIDE COMPUTER ASSISTED ANGIOGRAPHY IN THE STUDY OF THE FUNCTIONAL STATUS OF THE AORTOILIAC VESSELS. OUR RESULTS ARE: A. QUALITATIVE AND B. QUANTITATIVE. A. QUALITATIVE RESULTS: THERE IS GOOD CORRELATION BETWEEN THE TWO METHODSIN ALL CASES, IN SHOWING THE SITE OF COMPLETE ARTERIAL OCCLUSION AND PARTICULARLY WHEN IS LOCATED IN THE ILIAC ARTERIES. THE AORTOGRAPHY IS SUPERIOR IN SHOWING THE TORTUOSITY AND THE DEGREE OF ARTERIAL STENOSIS, WHEREAS THE 1ST PASS RADIONUCLIDE COMPUTER ASSISTED ANGIOGRAPHY IS BETTER IN SHOWING THE DEGREE OF COLLATERAL CIRCULATION. B. QUANTITATIVE RESULTS: IN ORDER TO ESTIMATE THE QUANTITATIVE RESULTS, WE DEVELOPED A NEW SOFTWARE PROGRAM APPLIED IN MICROCOMPUTER WITH HIGH RESOLUTION GRAPHICS. THE PROGRAM MEASURED SEMIAUTOMATICALLY TWO BLOOD FLOWPARAMETERS: 1. THE TIME OF PEAK ACTIVITY FOR EACH REGION OF INTEREST AND 2. THE DURATION OF THE 1ST PASS FLOW. (SHORTENED)
