ΜΕΘΟΔΟΛΟΓΙΑ ΑΝΑΛΥΣΗΣ ΤΗΣ ΒΙΟΜΗΧΑΝΙΚΗΣ ΠΑΡΑΓΩΓΙΚΟΤΗΤΑΣ
Abstract
dc:descriptionTHE PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY IS: A) TO PROPOSE AN APPROPRIATE MEASURE FOR EVALUATING THE TOTAL PRODUCTIVITY, INCLUDING MATERIALS ENERGY AND SERVICES IN SECTORS OF THE GREEK INDUSTRY, B) THE SIMULTANEOUS EVALUATION OF THE PARTIAL PRODUCTIVITIES OF ALL PRODUCTION FACTORS AND THEIR RELATIVE CONTRIBUTION TO THE TOTAL PRODUCTIV C) THE APPLICATION OF THE METHOD TO DIFFERENT PRODUCTION LEVELS, D) TO RELATE PRODUCTIVITY ADJUSTMENTS WITH PRODUCT UNIT COST CHANGES. FOR THIS PURPOSE DIFFERENT MEASURES FOR PRODUCTION INPUTS AND OUTPUTS WERE EXAMINED. THE MODEL SUGGESTED WAS AS OUTPUT MEASURE THE INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION INDEX, AS INPUT MEASURE THE DEFLATED INPUT COSTS WEIGHTED WITH THE RELATIVE CONTRIBUTION OF EACH PRODUCTION FACTOR TO THE TOTAL PRODUCTION COST. THE ANALYSIS INCLUDES FOUR MAIN CATEGORIES OF PRODUCTION INPUTS, WHICH ARE FURTHER DISAGGREGATED INTO NINETEEN SUB-CATEGORIES. THE APPLICATION OF THE MODEL TO EIGHT TWO-DIGIT AND SEVENTEEN THREE-DIGIT SECTORS OF THE GREEK CHEMICAL INDUSTRY SHOWS THAT: A) THE MODEL IS APPLICABLE TO ANY LEVEL OF PRODUCTION PERFORMANCE AND ANY DEGREE OF INPUT DISAGGREGATION, B) IT IS SUITABLE FOR THE PRODUCTIVITY EVALUATION OF INDUSTRIAL SECTORS,AS IT CORRELATES PRODUCTIVITY CHANGES WITH THE UNIT COST AND THE PRODUCT PRICES, C) THE TOTAL PRODUCTIVITY GROWTH IN THE EIGHT SECTORS OVER THE PERIOD 1974/80 WAS ESSENTIALLY LOWER THAN THE LABOUR PRODUCTIVITY GROWTH, THE MAIN TOTAL PRODUCTIVITY COMPONENT BEING THE MATERIAL PRODUCTIVITY.
