TIME COURSE EXPERIMENTS INDICATED THAT MAXIMAL UPTAKE OCCURS AFTER APPROX. 2-8 MIN OF INCUBATION. THERE AFTER, THE AMOUNT OF RADIOACTIVITY RETAINED BY THE CELLS IS DECREASING WITH TIME. THE EFFECT OF SUBSTRATED CONCENTRATION ON THE UPTAKE WAS STUDIED. THERE IS STRONG EVIDENCE THAT AGEPC IS BOUND ON SPECIFIC BINDING SITES.
