THE SUBJECT OF THE PRESENT THESIS IS THE RECOVERY OF METALS (MO, FE, CR, NI) FROM FERROUS SCRAP, AIMING TO THE FORMATION OF POWDER AS A FINAL PRODUCT. RESEARCH OF THE LOCAL MARKET LEADS US TO THE CHOICE OF A STAINLESS STEEL SCRAP (CONTAINING MO=2,7%) AND AN IRON SCRAP (FE=97,2%) AS RAW MATERIALS. THE STUDY IS BASEDON HYDROMETALLURGICAL PROCESS AND CONSISTS OF THREE STAGES. EXPERIMENTS ON THEDISSOLUTION PARAMETERS (CHCL, T, T) CONCLUDE TO THE DEFINITION OF AN AREA WHERE THE COMBINATION OF THE DATA GIVES THE OPTIMUM WHICH REFER TO THE COMPLETE DISSOLUTION OF THE SCRAP. ON THE SOLVENT EXTRACTION STAGE, VERSATIC 6, 9, 10 WERE EXAMINED AS ORGANIC EXTRACTMENTS IN RELATION TO THE PH OF THE AQUEOUS PHASE, THE TEMPERATURE, THE TIME AND THE VOLUME OF ORGANIC TO AQUEOUS PHASE. ADVANTAGES OF THE APPLICATION OF VERSATIC 6 WAS PROVED TO BE THE SELECTIVE AND QUANTITATIVE EXTRACTION OF MO, FE,CR IN RELATIVE ORDER AND REMAINS A CONDENSE OF NI. THE REDUCTION OF FECL2.2H2O BY H2 IS STUDIED IN RELATION TO TIME, POROSITY AND PURITY OF THE BREQUETS. WHILE REDUCTION OF FE2O3 IS EXAMINED, USING LIGNITE AS REDUCTANT, WITH ADDITION OF CAO (AS DESULFURISING AGENT) IN RELATION TO GRANULOMETRYOF THE MATERIAL, TEMPERATURE AND TIME. FINALLY, FROM THE EXPERIMENTS THE RESULT IN A FLOW SHEET FOR THE RECOVERY OF MO, FE, CR AND NI FROM FERROUS SCRAP.
