PETROGRAPHIC ANALYSISREVEALS THAT THE MATERIAL RANGES FROM FRIABLE TO WELL-CEMENTED, DEPENDING ON THE CEMENTATION (SECONDARY QUARTZ OR CARBONATES). DETAILED GRAIN-SIZE ANALYSISCLASSIFIES THE SANDSTONES INTO THE SAND AND MUDDY CATEGORIES OF FOLK'S SYSTEM. OF THE CLAY MINERALS THE ILLITE-NONTNORILLONITE TYPE IS MORE ABUNDANT. THE RANGE OF APPARENT POROSITY IS BETWEEN 17% AND 34% WITH A MEAN VALUE OF 24%. A SERIES OF PERMEAMETERS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED. THE PERMEABILITIES RANGE FROM 9X10-8 TO 3.64.10-3 CM/SEC.
