ΔΙΕΡΕΥΝΗΣΗ ΤΗΣ ΑΝΕΛΑΣΤΙΚΗΣ ΣΕΙΣΜΙΚΗΣ ΣΥΜΠΕΡΙΦΟΡΑΣ ΠΟΛΥΟΡΟΦΩΝ ΚΤΙΡΙΩΝ ΑΠΟ ΟΠΛΙΣΜΕΝΟ ΣΚΥΡΟΔΕΜΑ
Abstract
dc:descriptionTHE OBJECTIVE OF THE DISSERTATION IS TWOFOLD: A) TO EVALUATE CURRENT PROCEDURES FOR THE INELASTIC DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF MULTISTOREY REINFORCED CONCRETE (R/C) STRUCTURES SUBJECTED TO INPUT GROUND MOTIONS, THROUGH THE PARAMETRIC ANALYSIS OF VARIOUS STRUCTURAL MODELS, USING AN APPROPRIATE COMPUTER PROGRAM. B) USING THE RESULTS OBTAINED DURING THE PREVIOUS STAGE, EVALUATION OF THE INFLUENCE THAT THE DESIGN CODE PHILOSOPHY HAS ON THE SEISMIC BEHAVIOUR OF R/C BUILDING STRUCTURE. THE CODES CONSIDERED INCLUDE THE CURRENT GREEK CODES, AS WELL AS THE CEB-FIP MODEL CODES FOR THE DESIGN OF CONCRETE STRUCTURES (UNDER NORMAL AND SEISMIC LOADING). R/C FRAME STRUCTURES, AS WELL AS DUAL SYSTEMS WERE ANALYSED FOR A SERIES OF INPUT ACCELEROGRAMS, USING A GENERAL PURPOSE COMPUTER PROGRAM, EXTENDED AND MODIFIED DURING THE COURSE OF THE PRESENT STUDY. REGARDING STAGE (A) THE MAIN CONCLUSIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING (I) AS FAR AS THE DYNAMIC INPUT PARAMETERS ARE CONCERNED, THE MOST CRITICAL ONE WAS FOUND TO BE THE BASE ACCELEROGRAM; (II) THE STRUCTURAL PARAMETER WHICH HAD THE LARGEST INFLUENCE ON THERESPONSE WAS THE EFFECTIVE FLEXURAL STIFFNESS OF THE ELASTIC PART OF THE MODELS REPRESENTING THE HYSTERETIC BEHAVIOUR OF R/C MEMBERS; AMONG THE POST-YIELD STIFFNESS PARAMETERS, THE ONE DETERMINING THE SLOPE OF THE UNLOADING BRANCH INTHE MODIFIED TAKEDA MODEL WAS FOUND TO HAVE THE LARGEST INFLUENCE ON THE RESULTS. REGARDING STAGE (B), THE MOST SERIOUS DEFFICIENCY FOUND IN THE SEISMIC BEHAVIOUR OF BOTH THE FRAME AND THE DUAL SYSTEMS DESIGNED TO THE GREEK CODES WAS THAT COLUMN HINGING OCCURED, EVEN FOR MODERATELY STRONG GROUND SHAKING, WHILE FOR AN EARTHQUAKE INTENSITY EXCEEDING THAT OF THE EL CENTRO SOOE COMPONENT THE AVAILABLE COLUMN DUCTILITIES WERE FOUND TO BE LOWER THAN THE DEMANDS CALCULATED IN THE ANALYSIS. THE STRUCTURES DESIGNED TO THE CEB MODEL CODES PERFORMEDIN A SUPERIOR MANNER, WITH LOWER DISPLACEMENTS, MORE UNIFORMLY DISTRIBUTED ALONG THE HEIGHT AND COLUMN DUCTILITY REQUIREMENTS LOWER, IN GENERAL, THAN THE AVAILABLE VALUES.
