Abstract
dc:descriptionBASED ON INTEGRAL REPRESENTATIONS DERIVED IN THE SECOND PART OF THIS DISSERTATION, A TRANSITION T-MATRIX IS CONSTRUCTED FOR SCATTERING OF THERMOELASTIC WAVES IN ISOTROPIC AND THERMALLY CONDUCTING MEDIA. THE T-MATRIX RELATES THE COEFFICIENTS OF THE INCIDENT THERMOELASTIC AND THE COUPLED THERMAL WAVES TO THE COEFFICIENTS OF THE CORRESPONDING SCATTERED WAVES. THE FORMALISM USED IS QUITE GENERAL AND IS VALID FOR ANY TYPE OF HARMONIC INCIDENT FIELD AS WELL AS FOR OBSTACLES OF ARBITRARY SHAPE EXCEPT FOR THE CASE OF VERY ELONGATED OBJECTS. THE ENTRIES OF THE MATRIX ARE IN THE FORM OF SURFACE INTEGRALS AND CAN BE EVALUATED NUMERICALLY.
