BORON HAS BEEN DETERMINED BY A COLORIMETRIC METHOD WITH METHYLENE BLUE, USING FOUR SCALES OF BORONCONCENTRATION-ABSORPTION OF ITS ORGANIC COMPLEX. THE MAXIMUM LIMIT OF BORON CONCENTRATION IN THE SOLUTION MUST BE 60 MGR/10 ML, WHILE THE LOWER LIMIT AT 0,1 MGR/10ML. THE MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS OF STANTON AND MCDONALD (1966) METHOD, WHICH HAS BEEN INITIALLY APPLIED ONLY FOR LOW BORON CONCENTRATIONS, ARE THE TIME OF THE INFLUENCE OF ACIDS ON SAMPLES AND THE UTILIZATION OF DIFFERENT SCALES AND REAGENT CONCENTRATIONS, ACCORDING TO THE BORON CONCENTRATIONS IN THE MEASURED SOLUTION. FOR CONCENTRATIONS UP TO 3000 PPM IN BORON, A MODIFIED TO THE ORIGINAL METHOD APPLIED. ACCURACY MEASUREMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE USING AAS TECHNIQUES.
