ON THE PEAK POWER OF A N2 LASER SOME "FEATURES" WHICH APPEAR AS IRREGULARITIESAT CERTAIN PRESSURE REGIONS WERE OBSERVED. THESE CANNOT BE EXPLAINED BY ANY OF THE EXISTING THEORIES. THESE "FEATURES" ATTRIBUTE TO REACTIONS AMONG ION TYPES IN N2 PLASMA. THE REACTIONS N2+N2+ -> <- N4+ AND N2(M)+N2(M') -> N4++E (OR)N2++N2+E ARE THE CAUSES OF THE "FEATURES" CENTERED IN ABOUT 65 AND 110 TORR RESPECTIVELY.
