IN THIS RESEARCH WORK, A MATHEMATICAL EMPIRICAL MODEL DESCRIBING THE KINEMATICS OF FORMED CHIPS AND CALCULATING THE CUTTING FORCES IN SURFACE GRINDING HAS BEEN DEVELOPED. MODELLING HAS BEEN ATTEMPTED ON THE BASIS OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS IN THE SEQUENCE SHOWN: A) THE ACCURATE DESCRIPTION OF THE CUTTING TOOL FORM IN SPACE AS A RESULT OF DISCRETIZATION OF ROUGHNESS MEASUREMENTS. B) THE MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSION OF PENETRATIONS BETWEEN GRINDING WHEEL AND WORKPIECE MATERIAL. C) THE DETERMINATION OF THE GEOMETRY OF UNDEFORMED CHIPS. D) CALCULATION OF THE OVERALL FORCE COMPONENTS DEVELOPED DURING GRINDING AND ACTING ON THE GRINDING WHEEL.
