ΝΕΑ ΥΛΙΚΑ ΘΩΡΑΚΙΣΕΩΣ ΕΝΑΝΤΙ ΦΩΤΟΝΙΩΝ ΚΑΙ ΝΕΤΡΟΝΙΩΝ ΠΑΡΑΓΟΜΕΝΩΝ ΑΠΟ ΙΑΤΡΙΚΑ ΜΗΧΑΝΗΜΑΤΑ.
Abstract
dc:description"STEEL-CONCRETE" IS A MIXTURE OF CONCRETE AND "STEEL PUNCHINGS" (BY-PRODUCT OF PRESSES OF INDUSTRY). THE TRANSMISSION FOR THIS SHIELDING MATERIAL OF BEAMS PRODUCED BY TELETHERAPY UNITS FOR PRIMARY AND SECONDARY RADIATION, HAVE BEEN MEASURED. THE CONSTRUCTION COST OF THE TREATMENT ROOM USING "STEEL-CONCRETE", IS THREE TIMES LOWER THAN THAT USING IRON AND THE NECESSARY THICKNESS IS THREE TIMES LESS THAN USING ORDINARY CONCRETE. SPECIAL CARE IS REQUIRED FOR THE SHIELDING OF THE DOOR OF TREATMENT ROOM OF ACCELARATORS. SEVERAL INEXPENSIVE MATERIALS, SUCH AS POLYETHYLENE IN FORM OF PEARLS, "XYLOTEX", "NOVOPAN", CAN BE USED TO SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE THE COST OF THE DOOR. THE PHOTONEUTRONS ATTENUATION FOR THESE MATERIALS HAS BEEN MEASURED FOR MEDICAL ACCELARATORS.
