Abstract
dc:description.abstract<p>The purpose of this study is to measures homeschooling parents' perceptions of actual and preferred frequency of counseling activities within the homeschool. The instrument used is the School Counselor Activity Rating Scale (SCARS) which is a valid and reliable measure of the actual and desired frequencies of school counseling activities based on the 2004 ASCA National Standards. Multi linear regression will be utilized to explore reasons for homeschooling, length of time homeschooling, and other characteristics as predictors for the reported difference between frequency of preferred and actual counseling activities. In addition, correlations between reported reasons for homeschooling and preferred frequency of counseling activities will be examined. Findings will be analyzed to provide information on understanding homeschooled clients' possible counseling preferences, and for recommendations on effective ways to expand counseling services to homeschoolers based on family preferences and any experienced gap between preferred and actual counseling services. </p>
