ROLE FOR HYDROGEN PEROXIDE DURING ABIOTIC AND BIOTIC STRESS SIGNALING IN PLANTS
Abstract
dc:descriptionPlants must adapt to negative environmental conditions that limit their growth, development and yield. Common for such stress conditions is that they induce the accumulation of harmful reactive oxygen species (ROS). ROS, such as hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), are now also considered to be important signal molecules that regulate the defense response of plants to stress. In this thesis, different strategies were pursued to identify genes that are involved in the stress response of plants.
