Forward jet production in neutral current deep inelastic scattering with ZEUS at HERA

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

With the ZEUS experiment at the HERA collider at DESY (Hamburg) <br>deep inelastic electron-proton scattering can be investigated at a centre-of-mass energy of 318 GeV. Forward jets as a certain class of neutral current events are selected to probe different parton evolution models. The measured cross sections depending on Bjoerken-x and transverse energy are based on the luminosity of 76 pb-1. For the running period of 1998-2000 the calorimetric acceptance was extended in pseudo-rapidity using the Forward Plug Calorimeter.
