Life stress was measured by the Life Events Survey for Collegiate Athletes. The Competitive State Anxiety Test and Marten’s Sport Competition Trait Anxiety Test calculated competitive anxiety.</p> <p>After calculating means and standard deviations for each measure, a multiple regression was run. A two-way ANOVA was used to determine differences between sport and gender.</p> <p>The results of the study indicated there was no effect of gender for trait anxiety, cognitive and somatic state anxiety or gender. A significant main effect was found between gender and self-confidence. There was no effect of gender for life stress. There was no effect of sport for cognitive state anxiety, somatic state anxiety, self-confidence, or life stress. The CSAI-2 self-confidence showed no significant difference between sport.
