Recently this medication received lot of attention in the medical world as a potential treatment for COVID-19. The goal of this research is to perform a systematic review of literature to focus on the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine in COVID-19 patients and any evidence of adverse reactions. The database used to conduct this research was PubMed, using four keywords and phrases: effects, side effects, adverse events, and serious adverse events of hydroxychloroquine in COVID-19 patients. Out of the 15 articles selected for the final review, 12 articles indicated no clinical improvement and 10 articles did not indicate any evidence of adverse reactions.
