Bush. The new goal under the reform was that by 2020 all students will graduate from high school and be college and career ready. With a growing emphasis on all students being successful in the classroom, educators had to explore different methods to implement in the classroom to help all students learn the state standards. Allowing summative assessment retakes was one of the methods that many teachers chose to implement in order to help students succeed in the classroom.
