A total of 15 supervisors from the private sector were interviewed in-depth. They were asked to describe all facets of their leadership roles in their centres. The results of this study suggest strongly that the child care centre supervisors are relatively young and inexperienced. Most of them have very little training in management and leadership skills. Many have acquired management and leadership knowledge through trial and error.
