Over 200 PhD candidates participated in the study by providing data over a six month period using a custom-built Internet-interfaced database. Each candidate completed a self-concept test both at the beginning and again at the end of this period. In between, they completed an 'e-diary' in which they recorded data about every feedback interaction that they experienced over the six months. From the data collected, the Researcher developed a model showing how feedback is processed and the effect that this process has on PhD candidates.","abstract_html":"This study takes a close look at the characteristics of the feedback received by PhD candidates and explores how they then interpret that feedback.
