Left ventricular boundary detection in digitized cardiac images

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

Edge detecting techniques relative to application in a portion of Eastern Washington University's Heart Modeling System (HMS) are discussed. Filters, sharpeners, and transforms are discussed in more depth. Twelve operators, several with more than one mask, are tested to arrive at the optimal edge detecting scheme for this domain. Images are shown for each of the operators tested. A glossary and extensive bibliography are included.
