This dissertation examines the Catholic monthly as a vehicle for communicating Christian culture. It also describes and evaluates the ways in which Jubilee drew on pre-existing themes to prepare the Church and the world for its reception of Vatican II. This data is used to interpret what the Church came to understand about its nature, identity, mission, and structure.
