Beginning with Serious Song No. 4, Brahms shows us that love is the greatest gift. Then, he leads us through the journey of love through a child's eyes, O wüsst' ich doch den Weg; new love, Meine Liebe ist grün; married love, Das Mädchen spricht; the first signs of trouble, Der Jäger und sein Liebchen; and finally nostalgic love, Ständchen.
