All subjects underwent a full echocardiogram, office blood pressure and 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.<br/><br/>Results: Out of 350 subjects screened, left ventricular mass measurements were available on 227 (65%). The prevalence of LVH indexed to body surface area was 50%. In a multiple regression model the factors independently related to LVH were age, sex and history of diabetes.
