The Stone of Amaaranth: An Epic Fantasy Novel for Middle Grade Readers

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

The Stone of Amaranth is a chapter book for kids nine to fourteen, set in medieval times, and the coming of age story for a boy and a girl. The boy is trained by an old hermitic woman to search for magic stones. She calls him Boy because of a spell which prevents either of them from knowing his name. The stones, however, never seemed to have any magic, until the last stone quest, where the boy meets Clio, a girl transformed into a cat by an evil king. The boy learns to wield Free Magic in a battle against the king and discovers his name.
