The Circumlocution Office of Dickens' "Little Dorrit"
Abstract
dc:description.abstract
Although writers have commented on the brilliance of the satire on the Circumlocution Office in Dickens' novel Little Dorrit. no one to my knowledge has made a detailed analysis of the particular techniques which Dickens employs. The need for such a study may be indicated by reviewing the course that criticism has taken in assessing Dickens' achievement in his satire of government.
