A Study of the One Sentence Poes of William Butler Yeats
Abstract
dc:description.abstract
I wish in this study to explore the possibility that the one sentence poems of William Butler Yeats were poems in which techniques were developed that were later extended and used in the great middle and late poems. The greatest number of one sentence poems are to be found in Yeats's volume of poetry entitled. The Wind Among the Reeds, published in 1899. I have studied these poems as published in the definitive edition of The Collected Poems of William Butler Yeats (New York, The Macmillan Company, 1966).
