Following the development of convalescent work in America we find convalescent care for children establishing its own institutions. This care is not only for children who are recovering from acute illness or from an accident, but also children suffering from malnutrition and underweight who have not had the chance to lend a normal healthy life.</p> <p>This dissertation attempts to study the effects of convalescent care on young boys between the ages of six and twelve who were discharged from Christ Child [writing illegible] in 1935.
