This paper reviews literature from 1988-2002 on anti-bullying research and anti-bullying programs. It focuses on the research and remedies to bully/victim interactions that are a major contributor to unsuccessful peer relationships among elementary school students. The purpose of this literature review was to explore current research on bullying as well as to identify programs that may provide solutions to the problems affecting children and the adults who support them. The major themes in the research were that awareness and involvement are essential to finding solutions to the problem of bullying. Offering immediate and long-term instructional strategies as well as demanding accountability were also important themes discovered in this research.
