To prepare students to become functional members of society, educators must teach more than the basic skills. Today's students must be competent with the constantly changing technology, they must be able to work independently, they must be able to work with a group of their peers and they must be able to talk about their own learning. In order to teach all these skills successfully, students and teachers must work as a team. One way to have students and teachers successfully work as a team is to develop goal sheets, which illustrate all the skills the students have to learn in an easy-to-understand form. This paper examines the benefits students and teachers receive when they use personal goal sheets to track students' growth throughout the year.
