La revolución de la estrella polar. La evolución del ideal de feminidad ante el cambio de la mentalidad española en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX

This study aims to analyse the reformulation of 'The Angel in the House' model and female identity in the Spanish mentality of the second half of the 19th century. With this purpose in mind, it examines the changes in the perception of educational, political, occupational and prívate countermodels and the dialogue established in written discussions and related visual material concerning the ideal woman. Lastly, it contemplates the responsive integration process of various aspects such as enlightenment, political involvement, respected singlehood and honourable work into the social representation of 'women', guaranteeing the model's endurance and control over fema le identity.
