El derecho hereditario de la mujer: de Roma al código civil

Abstract

dc:description

The present research begins with a historical exposition of the role of women in the most influential societies, both the role they play within the family and their legal position within the clan and in the society of which is part, to end up analyzing how it affected the right to succession. The historical route starts in the ancient Greece, where the position of women is contextualized in that society, to then focus on the Roman age, at which time we will try to analyze the role of women in a detailed way, because it is the time that has influenced the law in force today, focusing on those key questions to know what was the position of women in the Roman inheritance law. The study of women will continue in those societies that inhabited the Iberian Peninsula, such as the Germanic and Visigothic people, as well as their figure in the Middle Ages and the Modern Age. The study concludes with an analysis of the Civil Code, analyzing the evolution of the succession rights that affected women, with the publication of the various modifications that have been made since 1889.
