The aim of the present doctoral thesis has been to evaluate the functional connection between tryptophan and melatonin in their action on the activity-rest and non-specific immune response rhythms, evaluating the latter through the phagocytic function and oxidative metabolism of heterophils from young and old ringdove (Streptopelia risoria).
