Please, don't let me be misunderstood: intentionality, queer gestures, and feminist accountability

<p>This thesis aims to theoretically situate and define intentionality specifically as a feminist practice through queer gesturing; this re-defining places intentionality within a framework of accountability. By defining intent through the distibution of responsibility, this thesis addresses the impossibility in perfection of intentionality and the language of mis-gesturing and accountability. Using queer theory, anti-racist feminisms, transformative/restorative justice, and coalitional contexts this project uses canoncial notions of academic theory as well as personal storying to understand the implications and radical possibilities of intentionality. Through the use of everyday, discursive colloquialisms (as evidence of the intent versus impact binary), this project calls into question how we can situate intent and impact as an embodied, feminist, and queer practice.</p>
