Scottish and Ukrainian nationalism: a comparative study

<p>This thesis is essentially a study of similarities and differences between the development of Scottish and Ukrainian nationalisms in the 20th and the beginning of the 21st centuries, analyzing the role of the ideology in successful proclamation and maintaining of the Ukrainian independence, as well as determining the perspectives and vitality of the idea of Scottish independence with concentration on three major components of sovereignty: political, economic, and cultural. Important for this analysis is also the investigation of effectiveness of the major nationalist parties--the SNP in Scotland, and Rukh and Svoboda in Ukraine.</p>
