Modern Pharmacotherapy of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

Rheumatoid Arthritis is one of the leading causes of disability in the world. This thesis describes the diagnostic procedure for this disease as well as the standard treatment protocol. Almost half of the patients treated with the golden standard fail to meet treatment goals and thus require a more complex and aggressive treatment. The thesis then describes biological therapy in the treatment of RA in depth, the different kind of treatments and advantages and disadvantages to such a treatment.
