A Study of Vocabulary Differences Among a Group of Seventh and Eighth Grade Boys in a Home for Boys
Abstract
dc:description.abstractStatement of the Problem. This study purports to discover what vocabulary differences exist among a group of seventh and eighth grade boys in a home for homeless, abandoned, or neglected boys. By evaluating and comparing the vocabularies of these boys, the writer hopes to find causes for vocabulary deficiencies and their effects upon achievement in school subjects. The writer believes that poor vocabulary is often at least partly responsible for difficulties in mastering school subjects.
