Abstract
dc:description.abstractWestern Nursery was organized in 1957, by Mr. George Kearns. The business was initially centered around the raising of plants and flowers in a small greenhouse on George Kearns' property. From 1957 until 1972, the business was operated on a part-time basis, with some continuing development of the plant and floral lawn care service. Shortly after George Kearns' son, Dennis, returned from the military service in late 1972, the business was incorporated. Dennis and his wife were the incorporators. They soon established a retail facility, and offered major landscaping services as well.
