Contemporary Opinion of President Wilson's Fourteen Points

While one of the bloodiest conflicts in history still raced on the battle front of Europe, Woodrow Wilson President of the United states, determined to make the peace settlement not only an opportunity for nations to disarm, but also on Instrument for an enduring peace. Military victory to this groat statesman, idealist, and pacifist did not mean a chance to wreck vengeance on a conquered foe, but rather on opening to secure a ponce settlement which would prevent, if not wholly eliminate, future wars from growing out of the bitterness engendered by the world war.
