The Waist to Height Ratio is a Better Anthropometric Index of Abdominal Obesity and its Association with the Prevalence of Diabetes Among Asian Americans

There is limited information about diabetes prevalence among Asian Americans. Diabetes risk factors include abdominal obesity (AO), which can be assessed by measuring waist circumference (WC) or waist-to-height-ratio (WHtR). The purpose of this study was to compare the prevalence of diabetes among Asians with non-Asians in the United States and compare WC and WHtR as predictors of diabetes.
