Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe purposes of this study were (1) to determine the academic and professional backgrounds of the superintendent and their relative value to his present position, (2) to determine what superintendents would recommend to be included in a course of study for prospective administrators, (3) to establish a value rating on a number of personal characteristics generally considered among the most important for administrators, and (4) to compare the status of the school administrator in the State of Washington with that of the nation as a whole.
