A Survey and Study of Handwriting in the Intermediate Grades in Selected Schools in the State of Washington

Abstract

It is the purpose of this study (1) to survey the general nature of current practices in handwriting of the schools within the state of Washington which are classed as a group two and three according to the Washington Education Association’s Thirty-Fourth annual Teachers’ Salary Study; and (2) to determine the relative importance of handwriting in the intermediate curriculum of these schools.
