Specifically, we compute the regularity of the edge ideal of a dumbbell graph, and then we give a combinatorial characterization of the regularity of the edge ideal of an arbitrary bicyclic graph in terms of its induced matching number. In particolare, vengono studiate le varietà ACM di codimensione due in P1×P1×P1 (chiamate varietà di rette), e gli edge ideals dei grafi bicicli. Nello specifico, studiamo la funzione di Hilbert delle varità di Ferrers, un caso particolare di varietà ACM di rette, e descriviamo la risoluzione libera minimale trigraduata dell ideale che definisce una varietà di rette che si originano da una completa intersezione di punti. Inoltre, calcoliamo la regolarità di Castelnuovo-Mumford dell ideale che definisce una griglia di rette e una completa intersezione di rette in P1×P1×P1. Successivamente, studiamo la regolarità di un altra speciale varietà, cioè l edge ideal di un grafo biciclo e le sue potenze.
