Presently, there is a lack of evidence from large-scale multifactorial studies suggesting a definitive link between race/ethnicity and PD risk. In our research, we conducted a targeted literature review to evaluate and assess the inclusion of ethno-racial factors in the context of PD risk, diagnosis, and epidemiology, and found that only 21 of 410 (5.1%) reviewed articles accounted for ethno-racial factors as an integral part of analysis. Next, we used the Fox Insight dataset to compare the relationships between PD risk, race and known risk factors. PD diagnosis status and race were related, such that the White group had an increased prevalence of PD, while Asian, and Multiracial groups had a lower prevalence.
