Static Metasurfaces Reflectors with Independent & Complete Control of Magnitude & Phase
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis thesis presents a static coupled resonator design capable of near complete control of the complex reflectance. Designed in the Ka band with no lumped elements required. The UC design is examined and demonstrated in several different surfaces, such as a multi-beam steering surface, capable of directing two different beams of different relative magnitudes and also having different beam-widths. A single beam surface capable of producing a single beam output with varying magnitudes, from almost complete reflection to absorption. These designed surfaces are measured and verified in a custom designed far field measured setup capable of measurements in the Ka band.
