Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe Cape Floristic Region is the most diverse of the Mediterranean climate floras. Cliffortia (Rosaceae) is one of the ten largest genera within the Cape Flora with 117 species currently recognised, 104 of which are endemic to the region. I investigate the processes that have driven the diversification of Cliffortia within the Cape Floristic Region by means of comparative analyses based on a phylogenetic hypothesis.
