What the study attempts to do is to place the two issues in a constructive dialogue and tease out how the one informs the other. Throughout, the student is viewed as the focal point of research and the study assesses how the student responds to this dialogue. His/her writing becomes an index of an internalized dialogue between institution, writing, self and community.
