SST time-series over the 1987 to 2002 were derived from Meteosat 5-day SST composites with a spatial resolution of about 5-6 km in Angolan waters and a thermal resolution of 0.5°C. Chlorophyll-a data were from a 5-day composite of SeaWiFS GAC (4.5 km 'Global Area Coverage') images.
