dc:description.abstractThe aim of this thesis is to examine the legislative provisions relating to emergency incidents in South Africa and to determine whether they provide an adequate and effective national response mechanism for dealing with such incidents, as well as legal and other related issues, which arise as a consequence thereof, such as liability for damage to the environment and property; injury to persons; and compensation.
