Between 1979 and 2000, I created a number of dance works for CAPAB Ballet Company (now Cape Town City Ballet Company) and the University of Cape Town Ballet School (now UCT School of Dance). The works were all choreographed in a classical ballet style in which I was trained from the age of five. The ballets were most often created in an abstract form where interpretation of music into movement formed the primary motivation.
